CALL TO PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS — Contemporary artwork exchange at the Centre d’artistes Voix Visuelle
Whether you are a painter, photographer or practice any other form of contemporary visual artistic expression, we invite you to take possession of our gallery space in order to exhibit there for two weeks and exchange your work with other artists.
Proud of our success last year, we wish to once more give local creators a chance to enlarge their personal collections. The terms and conditions of selection, dissemination, and exchange are as follows:
- The art work will be exhibited during a period of two weeks
- Work can be sold to the public for a fixed price of $300
- The artist or their representative must be present during the evening of the exchange
The exchange will take place Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Voix Visuelle, located at 67 Beechwood avenue (2nd floor) in Ottawa.
Submission of work
- Work must be delivered on March 9 or March 10, 2016
- The artists can propose a maximum of two creations of a value of $300 each (tax included)
- 2D work must be professionally framed and ready to hang
- Work must not exceed 20” x 20” x 20”
- Work must be accompanied by a detailed list (artist’s name, title, year of creation)
- A jury composed of 3 professionals, in the domain of visual art, will chose the work on March 11, 2016
- A participation fee of $25 will be required for each work chosen
Exhibition of work
- Work will be exhibited from March 17–31, 2016
- Work will be shown to the public and sold at a fixed price of $300
- The whole amount will be paid to the artist
- Work purchased by the public will be withdrawn from the exchange
Exchange of work
- The exchange evening will be Thursday, March 31, 2016, from 5pm till 8pm
- We would like to mention that this is an exchange of one work for one work or two works for two works
- The works will be exchanged by means of a process of drawing of lots that will determine the order in which the participants will be invited to choose a work
